Talara

Oil refinery

Talara Project Abstract

Doosan Škoda Power has been awarded a contract to supply two steam turbine generators with a total capacity of 110 MW for a new power plant to be built at an oil refinery operated by Petroperú. The new power plant will be built as part of the Talara Refinery Modernisation (TRM) project. The project aims to modernise and expand the capacity of the Talara refinery to produce gasoline and gas, increase crude oil refining capacity and minimise waste. The TRM project will also enable a reduction in the cost of raw materials processing and ensure energy self-sufficiency for the power plant. This is an important project in the Oil and Gas market in Latin America for the Pilsen-based steam turbine manufacturer. The DST-G20 controlled-extraction turbines are able to cope with high input stream parameters and demanding industrial environment conditions. Thanks to this they can ensure the safe and reliable operation of the refinery. The two 55 MW single-casing turbines, including the generator, will be designed and manufactured in the Plzeň-based production plant and supplied to EPC contractor, Cobra Peru S.A. Doosan Škoda Power will also provide technical assistance during assembly and commissioning. The power plant in the Talara refinery is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2019.
